The Death & Resurrection

Should we all agree that Easter is a season? Personally, I have an issue with the idea of just taking Easter as a season. Here’s my thought…

Easter marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Now, what is Christianity without the death and resurrection of Jesus? It would just be another wave of revolution which today’s world would have been making reference to. But it’s not. Christianity is the lifestyle of Christ and He characterised himself as the resurrection and life. Did you see that? Christ is Easter. Death had no power over him because he is life and he resurrected from death because he is life. Jesus just lived his character even while being sacrificed in our place.

Was it easy? No it wasn’t. Did he feel like giving up? Oh yes he did feel like it. But it was not about what he felt because he had us in mind. If it was about His feelings then we should be poor because he was born humble. We should be sick because he was bruised. We should be tormented because he was persecuted. But it was never about what he felt.
